The History

A Legacy Born from the Sea

Pearl Farm Beach Resort traces its origins to a former South Sea pearl farm that once operated in the pristine waters of Samal Island. The property was originally dedicated to the cultivation of rare pearls within a secluded marine sanctuary known for its extraordinary natural beauty.

In the early 1980s, the island was acquired by visionary entrepreneur Don Antonio O. Floirendo Sr., who transformed the former pearl farm into Davao’s first luxury island resort. Guided by his vision, he entrusted the design of the resort to architect Francisco “Bobby” Mañosa, later declared a National Artist, whose work drew inspiration from indigenous Filipino communities, traditional forms, and the natural terrain of the island.

What emerged was not simply a resort, but a destination rooted in Filipino identity and harmony with nature.
